Mark Massen, CFP® is the owner of Massen and Associates Financial Services, a full service financial planning and education company. He holds a life & health insurance license, as well as securities licenses as a registered representative, investment advisor representative, and branch office super- visor.
In his licensed capacity, Mark works with CPAs and lawyers to assist them with implementing their strategies with their clients. Mark can select from over one hundred product providers, using the most appropriate and realistic financial vehicles. Mark is commission-based; there is never any charge to either the client or CPA for his services.
Mark works primarily with the middle-income market and small businesses.
In his spare time, Mark is an avid cruiser, taking 4-5 cruises a year. He is an Ambassador with Life Line of Ohio, being a 5-year kidney transplant recipient (from his wife, Sharon). Additionally, Mark is on the volunteer committee with the Buckeye Cruise for Cancer, raising funds for the Stefanie Spielman Fund for Cancer Research. He also works (part time) for the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts (CAPA) as head bartender in the concessions department for the Columbus Symphony, BalletMet, Broadway Across America, and other major events that come to the Ohio, Southern, and Palace Theaters.
Mark is a graduate from the University of California Berkeley with a Bachelor’s degree in physics, and a Master’s degree in business administration from Central Michigan University. After completing 26 years in the United States Air Force as a jet combat aviator and program manager for research and development projects, he retired as a Lieutenant Colonel. Following a stint in the private sector, Mark went back to school, graduating as the top student with a second bachelor’s de- gree in financial management. After starting his financial ser- vices company, Mark received the coveted Certified Financial PlannerTM designation. Mark is back in school at Franklin Uni- versity, finishing up a second master’s degree in Accounting (MSA), and is also an adjunct instructor in the MBA program.
